I have learned to schedule it with more margin, allowing more space for “ministry” time. I also do TRY and balance it with things like getting enough rest.
I believe that as we comfort and edify each other in these trying times we will bring the light to dark places, sober the mind to make not just right decisions but righteous decisions with the powerful lens of Gods word.
When I was asked to write an article on ‘Unity’ I gave my usual “sure no worries” answer and went about my day. A month of absolute writer's block made me realise that sharing something encouraging on this issue, in this current climate, is potentially more of a challenge than I originally thought.
Drugs, alcohol, sex, relationships, partying, overworking just to distract our self from dealing with what is really going on inside.
This becomes even more damaging and will take you down a dark path.
Let’s trust in the God who has been with His people since the beginning of time, walking in the confidence and assurance that while we are not in control, we know that God is.
Watch what you watch, read and listen too. Yes, we should keep updated and stay informed, but if we become obsessed with reading and listening to all the information available, we are certain to become anxious and stressed.
In no way do I speak for the majority. I speak about what we do see and hear in our newspapers, news apps and conversations. Some more close to home, who've lost loved ones, through this knife crime epidemic.
