I have toilet paper… lots of it!
At least a month supply because of the Costco shop I did a few weeks before the craziness erupted, however, I have given some away, and am still prepared to give away more. There are more snacks than usual and plan to stock up on arts and crafts and activities in the event school holidays are extended either end of Easter. I plan to offer to help care for other children in the event of school closures because I understand that some parents will still have to work, and I want to have enough to entertain them all.
I’ve bought a packeted brownie mix and started planning movie days so I can take advantage of this opportunity to spend more time with my kids and their friends in my home. Puzzles. Board games. Maybe even some karaoke.
Invest in each other. Extend love to each other. Share on XI don’t know how long this will go for, or the extent of the damage that the world will have to recover from, but I do know this event is going to be one for the history books. It’s something my kids will remember.
Be kind, gracious & patient.
I don’t want them to remember me being stressed, fearful and anxious, I want them to remember us having fun. Having pyjama days and movie nights. Baking cakes and making paper chains. Creating memories that will last a lifetime. Let’s see the rainbows in this storm and take advantage of the time together we wouldn’t normally get. Invest in each other. Extend love to each other. When you are grocery shopping be extra appreciative to the staff who are bearing the brunt of limited stock and short supplies. Our kids need to see that despite difficult circumstances, we are choosing to walk in love. Teach them to see the rainbows in the storm through our attitude, actions, and responses.
